And on the fiftieth day, Powerbook rested.

So I'm about to reboot Powerbook for the first time in a little while. 50 days, anyway. Probably the longest I've ever had it on continuously. Obviously there was some sleeping in there, but I haven't rebooted it since the 10.4.1 update. I think iTunes 4.9 wanted a restart, but I just started using it, and no one seemed to care.
A little while ago during the Hancock Across America Tour, I was showing Hancock all the new features of Tiger. When I was showing him Dashboard, he noticed the uptime widget was at 37 days (or thereabouts), and was like "What's that mean?" When I told him that my computer had been on for 37 days without a reboot he couldn't believe it. And while I guess that's sort of impressive, I guess it's just something that I take for granted nowadays. Of course it's been up that long. The only reasons to restart nowadays are if you update the OS, or if you have a kernel panic.
I'm sure somewhere down the line I'll probably have to use Windows with some regularity again, and when I do, it'll be interesting what my time between reboots will be. I wonder if it'll be measured in days or weeks. I'm doubting months.
Okay, I'm going to restart.
